The Halo series may have made its debut in 2001 with the original Xbox, but most of its games were first launched on Xbox 360, where so many his fans fell in love with the franchise. There are a lot of good memories of launching one of these games with the sound of the 360 and even if they are all available on Xbox One and the X | S series, these 360 native games end.
343 Industries announced that most online services would be closed for Halo games on Xbox 360 and it was their intention since the physical and digital sales of the games were down since 2018. The date of closing of these services has been fixed . For December 2021, but was revised for January 13, 2022.
Online services that will be affected include twinning, file sharing, challenges, motD and extras. The service record and customization of the player will persist for Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, but will be put offline for Halo Reach and Halo 4.
The matchmaking will stay online for Halo Wars and Halo: Spartan Assault. Halo: This anniversary will not be allocated with the exception of the contents of the Crossover Halo Reach Firefight.
With all the games above on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S, there are probably very few players who still play on Xbox 360. That being said, Halo: Master Chief Collection and Native Xbox One versions will have always all their active online services. However, the titles 360 read in retrocompatibility will be affected.
As much we loved playing Halo 3 on Xbox 360 in 2007, all good things have an end. In addition, we have infinite halo waiting in a few months, so live with time, grandfather!
